  2. Teaching Certification: A recognised teaching qualification, such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or an equivalent teaching credential, is often necessary. Some schools may also accept alternative teaching qualifications

  3. Knowledge of Islam: A thorough understanding of Islamic teachings, including the Quran, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and Islamic history, is essential. Proficiency in Arabic may also be required or preferred.

  4. Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching Islamic studies or related subjects is often required. Experience in a classroom setting, whether in schools, community centres, or religious institutions, is highly valued.

  5. Language proficiency: Proficiency in English is typically required, as it is often the medium of instruction. Some schools may also value proficiency in Arabic or other regional languages.

  6. Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding and sensitivity to the cultural and religious backgrounds of students, with the ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  7. Classroom Management: Strong skills in managing classroom behaviour, maintaining discipline, and creating a positive and productive learning environment.​

Salary Package & Benefits

  1. Monthly Salary: Typically ranges from 9,000 AED to 16,000 AED TAX FREE ($2,500 to $5,000 USD), depending on the country, type of school (e.g., private, international), and the teacher’s experience and qualifications.

  2. Tax-Free Salary: In many Middle Eastern countries, salaries are tax-free, which can significantly increase the take-home pay

  3. Housing/Housing Allowance: Many schools offer a housing allowance or provide fully furnished accommodation, which can vary in value depending on the location and family size.

  4. Visa: Working visa and residency visa provided for the teacher,  Sometimes this is extended for the spouse and children.

  5. Transportation Allowance: Some schools offer a transportation allowance or provide free transport to and from the school.

  6. Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance coverage is usually included for the teacher and often for their family members as well.

  7. Relocation Allowance: A one-time relocation allowance may be provided to cover moving expenses to the Middle East or other regions.

  9. Airfare: Annual round-trip airfare to the teacher’s home country, often including coverage for family members, as part of the relocation benefits.

  10. End-of-Service Gratuity: A lump sum payment at the end of the contract term, calculated based on the length of service, in accordance with local labour laws.

  11. Professional Development: Some institutions offer funding or opportunities for professional development, including training and conferences related to Islamic studies or education.

  12. Paid Holidays: Generous paid holidays, including national holidays, winter break, and summer vacation, are typically part of the package.

  13. Contract Duration: Contracts generally,  span 1-2 years, with potential for renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.

  14. Work Hours: Standard school hours 8am to 3pm, with additional time expected for lesson planning, grading, and extracurricular involvement.
