About The Role
As a School Counselor, you will be a key member of the school’s student support team, working with students to address emotional, social, and academic challenges. You will provide counseling services, support students' mental health, and guide them through their personal and academic growth. Your role will also include offering workshops for students and working closely with parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling to students, helping them navigate academic, social, and personal challenges.
Develop and implement wellness programs, workshops, and seminars on mental health, study skills, and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify and support students’ needs, providing interventions as needed.
Offer guidance and support to students in the college/career planning process.
Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with school policies.
Serve as a resource for parents, helping them to understand and support their children’s emotional and academic needs.
Requirements
A degree in counseling, Psychology a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology is preferred
At least 3 years of experience in school counseling, with experience in a K-12 setting.
Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and crisis intervention.
Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to foster a supportive and positive environment for students and families.
Experience in working collaboratively with staff, parents, and the broader school community.
