Curriculum Development:Â Develop and implement a comprehensive philosophy curriculum that covers various philosophical traditions, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning.
Instruction:Â Teach students about major philosophical theories, ideas, and concepts through lectures, discussions, and seminars.
Critical Thinking:Â Foster students' critical thinking skills by encouraging them to analyze, evaluate, and debate philosophical texts and arguments.
Ethical and Moral Development:Â Guide students in exploring ethical dilemmas and moral reasoning, helping them develop their own ethical framework.
Philosophical Inquiry:Â Encourage philosophical inquiry and exploration of fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, truth, and values.
Essay and Debate Coaching:Â Provide coaching and feedback to students for philosophical essays, presentations, and debate competitions.
Assessment and Evaluation:Â Assess students' understanding through exams, essays, projects, and philosophical inquiries.
Professional Development:Â Stay updated with current trends and developments in philosophy and education through ongoing professional development.
Education: Master’s or PhD degree in Philosophy or a related field with a specialization in a particular branch of philosophy (e.g., ethics, epistemology, metaphysics).
Certification:Â Valid teaching certification or licensure specific to the region or country of employment.
Experience:Â Previous experience teaching philosophy or related subjects at various educational levels and settings is preferred.
Knowledge:Â In-depth knowledge of major philosophical theories, thinkers, and traditions. Familiarity with teaching critical thinking and ethical reasoning.
Communication Skills:Â Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional languages may be an asset.
Interpersonal Skills:Â Ability to engage and motivate students in philosophical discussions and debates.
Technology Skills:Â Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance philosophy instruction.
Salary Package
Average Salary:Â The average salary for a Philosophy Teacher in the UAE is approximately 12,000 AED per month.
Experienced Salary:Â Teachers with 5-10 years of experience can earn between 15,000 to 18,000 AED per month.
High Salary:Â Highly experienced Philosophy Teachers with over 10 years of experience can earn upwards of 20,000 AED per month.
