Requirements to Apply

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver a comprehensive religious education curriculum that covers key religious texts, beliefs, practices, and ethical teachings.

  • Instruction: Teach students about different religious traditions, including their historical, cultural, and philosophical aspects.

  • Critical Thinking: Foster critical thinking skills by encouraging students to analyze and evaluate religious texts, beliefs, and practices.

  • Ethical and Moral Development: Guide students in exploring ethical dilemmas and moral teachings within different religious contexts.

  • Interfaith Dialogue: Facilitate discussions and promote understanding of religious diversity and interfaith dialogue.

  • Community Involvement: Engage with parents, religious leaders, and community members to support students' religious education.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess students' understanding through exams, essays, projects, and discussions related to religious education.

  • Professional Development: Stay updated with current trends and developments in religious education and pedagogy through ongoing professional development.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher may be preferred.

  • Certification: Valid teaching certification or licensure specific to religious education or general education depending on the region or country of employment.

  • Experience: Previous experience teaching religious education or related subjects at various educational levels and settings is preferred.

  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of religious texts, beliefs, practices, and ethical teachings across different religious traditions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional languages and familiarity with teaching tools may be advantageous.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage and motivate students in discussions about sensitive and complex religious topics.

  • Technology Skills: Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance religious education instruction.

Salary Package

  • Average Salary: The average salary for a Religious Education Teacher in the UAE is approximately 12,000 AED per month.

  • Experienced Salary: Teachers with 5-10 years of experience can earn between 15,000 to 18,000 AED per month.

  • High Salary: Highly experienced Religious Education Teachers with over 10 years of experience can earn upwards of 20,000 AED per month.
