Requirements to Apply
Curriculum Development:Â Develop and implement a comprehensive social studies curriculum covering topics such as history, geography, civics, economics, and current events.
Instruction:Â Teach students about key historical events, geographic regions, government systems, economic principles, and societal issues.
Critical Thinking:Â Foster critical thinking skills by analyzing primary and secondary sources, evaluating historical events, and exploring social issues.
Cultural Awareness:Â Promote cultural understanding and respect for diversity through the study of different cultures, religions, and traditions.
Citizenship Education:Â Educate students about civic responsibilities, democratic principles, human rights, and global citizenship.
Field Trips and Projects:Â Organize field trips and projects to enhance students' understanding of social studies concepts and real-world applications.
Assessment and Evaluation:Â Assess students' understanding through exams, essays, projects, and class participation related to social studies topics.
Parent and Community Engagement:Â Collaborate with parents, community members, and local organizations to support students' learning in social studies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, Geography, Political Science, or related field. A master’s degree may be preferred.
Certification:Â Valid teaching certification or licensure specific to social studies or general education depending on the region or country of employment.
Experience:Â Previous experience teaching social studies or related subjects at various educational levels and settings is preferred.
Knowledge:Â In-depth knowledge of historical events, geographic regions, government systems, economic principles, and societal issues. Familiarity with teaching tools and educational technology.
Communication Skills:Â Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional languages and familiarity with teaching tools may be advantageous.
Interpersonal Skills:Â Ability to engage and motivate students in discussions about complex social issues and historical events.
Technology Skills:Â Proficiency in using technology and educational tools to enhance social studies instruction.
Salary Package
Average Salary:Â The average salary for a Social Studies Teacher in the UAE is approximately 12,000 AED per month.
Experienced Salary:Â Teachers with 5-10 years of experience can earn between 15,000 to 18,000 AED per month.
High Salary:Â Highly experienced Social Studies Teachers with over 10 years of experience can earn upwards of 20,000 AED per month.
